Instead of throwing money down the drain to unclog your actual drains, try performing a few of these home remedy drain cleaning tips first.
Water is by nature purifying, and hot water, well, that can most definitely loosen up some of the toughest clogs.
Tip: boil a pot or two of water and pour it down the clogged drain to help break up and break down some of the sediment that could be clogging it.
Sugary sodas may rot your teeth and bloat your belly, but there is something about their sugar and carbonated chemistry that can resolve common drain clogs similar to homemade solutions.
Tip: Pour a can or a 2 liter of soda sitting in your pantry or fridge down the clogged drain to help unclog it.
Good ole fashioned vinegar and baking soda may just be your home remedy drain cleaning solution!
Tip: Measure one cup of baking soda and one cup of vinegar, then pour them down your drain pipes followed by a boiling water cleanse 3-5 minutes later.
If your drains get clogged, try pouring hot water, soda or a mixture of vinegar and baking soda down the drain to remedy your clog before spending money on plungers or snakes.
You may want to try some preventative maintenance as well, such as hydro jetting, if your drains are prone to getting clogged.
